How far will two best friends go when a meat product threatens to come between them?
That’s the premise of our magnum opus, Rendang of Death. This is a film about honor, friendship, and yes, love. It is also a story about punching, necromancy, and motorcycles. But mostly it's a story about rendang: the curried beef dish that is Indonesia’s — and also mankind’s — greatest culinary achievement. Will the friendship survive the meal? Will literally anyone survive the meal? Inspired by the Christy Karacas cult classic Bar Fight, Rendang of Death asks the hard questions that try our souls.

Director’s Statement:
“Our goal was to create an animation that would highlight our house aesthetic while remaining authentically Indonesian. Rendang of Death is an action-comedy that’s completely local — all of the characters, jokes, and references are immediately recognizable to an Indonesia audience — while also transcending borders. You don’t need to know what rendang is to enjoy the dark humor of a man getting stabbed in the chest by a chicken wing.”
