A SIMPLE QUESTIONAIRE
The cornerstone of UpdateStatus was and continues to be a simple online questionnaire. Written in the informal, chatty tone of a Buzzfeed listicles, it asks you a few questions created to gauge whether you’ve been at risk of HIV infection. At the end, your results prompt you to book an appointment at a puskesmas, one of Jakarta’s many free health clinics.
And that’s it. You take the quiz, you book the appointment, and you get tested. No judgement, no moralizing, no fuss — the whole process could be completed in less than ten minutes.
AFTER A YEAR OF OPERATION, DATA COLLECTION, AND USER SURVEYS, WE REFINED THE SITE FURTHER.
We kept the essence of the the voice, but simplified the design even further. We listened to how users of the site said we could best encourage people to get all the way through the questionnaire and submit their appointment request — and we implemented it. The results can be seen below.
